Tuition Assistance Set at 100%
TThe Iowa National Guard has announced that, for academic year 2008-2009,
themaximum IANG Tuition Assistance award has been set at 100% for the Regents
average tuition rate. For students enrolled at Regent Universities andprivate
colleges the maximum award will be $6,420 per year ($3,210 persemester
or $2,140 per quarter) for students enrolled full-time.
For community college students the IANG Tuition Assistance award has been
setat 100% of the tuition rate at the community college.

Deployed Iowa Soldiers Not Charged Interest on Loans
The Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corp., Iowa's largest private lender, has
announced that troops won't be charged interest on their loans while they
are deployed.
Those members of the military deployed since September 11, 2001 are elibible
for the plan. Borrowers must send athe company a copy of their activation
orders to take advantage of the program.
