Origin of the Iowa Military Education Coordinating Committee
The Iowa Military Education Coordinating Committee (IMECC) was founded in the early 1980s - the brain child of Joe Farnsworth, for many years a consultant with the Iowa Department of Education, and others. Since then, IMECC has been actively involved in the education of Iowa's military community.
IMECC is also recognized by the U.S. Departnmet of Defense as Iowa's Advisory
Council on Military Educaton (ACME)
IMECC is a consortium of organizations with an interest in the welfare
and education of Iowa's veterans, members of Iowa's reserve components
and other persons eligible for VA benefits. At present, IMECC includes
